ELTMentor News

ELTMentor News.

Here is our weekly run-down of what’s been happening during the last week.

Rosamund Place has joined the ELTMentor forum. Welcome Ros. Ros is one of our teacher/materials developers here on Gapfillers.

Please don’t forget to introduce yourselves in the forum we have a few comments there already but please tell us something about yourself and use the space for your own discussions and ideas. Go ahead and register there yourself (if you haven’t already) and I’ll put you into the ELTMentor discussion group.

Connie was asking about Twitter and how to follow twitter chats. I’m sure that there are others who might want to know more about this too. Our webinar next Monday will deal with this as well as getting started on blogging (twitter is after all a kind of blogging). In the meantime here is a great guide by Jason Renshaw (@englishraven on twitter).

I am very excited to announce that we have a guest speaker for our Webinar on Monday – none other than Shelly Terrell. For those of you who don’t know Shelly she is the queen of ELT technology. She will be introducing the idea of blogging as a professional development tool and talking about twitter and PLN (Professional Learning Network). It will be a fantastic session. I will be hosting and trying to ask some pertinent questions.

We’ll send out all the links for this event at the end of the week.

We will be meeting again the following Monday for the second of our teleseminars. This will be on teaching Advanced students. The first one is recorded and will be posted soon. It is a very large file and proving difficult to upload.

In case you haven’t seen it my latest blog post is about my first lesson.

Please don’t forget the forum.
