The robot, called Sam, is put through his paces to test a new fabric which could keep skiers dry in freezing temperatures.

Scientists at the University of Zurich are optimistic their sweating robot will help to develop high-tech fibres capable of sustaining a sweating athlete in freezing conditions. It took five years to develop "Sam". He has 125 sweat nozzles across his body.

The fibres are designed to change how much air and moisture can permeate clothing and adjust as the body’s temperature rises and falls.
