German business morale plunges

Nov.24 – France’s Sarkozy and Germany’s Merkel discuss the financial crisis as more gloomy economic data comes out of the eurozone.

Both leaders distanced themselves from a British plan to cut sales taxes to boost the economy, saying they preferred targeted aid that would help certain industries.

Germany’s much-watched Ifo corporate sentiment plunged to its lowest level in nearly 16 years, and Belgian business confidence also sank.
