Apr 22 – Iraqi children study in cramped, appalling conditions after a decade of sanctions and three wars.
Iraqi schools are overwhelmed with pupils displaced from other areas by sectarian violence and bombings.
A quarter of all primary schools run two to three shifts per day, cutting classroom times and putting a huge strain on teaching staff.
