How to make lemonade

There is something very special about sitting in the sunshine with a glass of homemade lemonade, and this recipe has been tried and tested by both adults and children, and given a seal of approval from both! It’s an easy drink to create, so have a go and enjoy.

SERVES 6:

1 cup of sugar

1 cup of water

1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice (from approx 4-5 lemons)

3-4 further cups of cold water

1) Heat the sugar and 1 cup of water in a pan until the sugar dissolves. Allow to cool

2) Add the lemon juice to the cooled syrup and stir. Pour into a large jug

3) Add the 3-4 cups of cold water until the desired strength of lemonade is achieved.

4) Serve with mints sprigs and ice (remember the ice will dilute the lemonade as it melts)

Tip: For pink lemonade, add a cup of cranberry juice.

Delicious!!
