Welcome to IELTS Exam Booster and thank you for signing up to this two-week IELTS revision course which will go over all parts of the test and make sure you are ready for our IELTS exam.
Your programme runs for two weeks (or three weeks if you cannot complete everything in 2 weeks). You will get practice material every day (except for Day 7) and will have 5 Skype lessons over this time to check your results, get advice, go through each part of the test and practice your speaking.
Here is your timetable for the two weeks. Follow the links to the exercise for the day where you can download the tests and tasks.
Week One
- Day 1 – Listening practice
Today you’ll receive a listening test to do. When you have finished this send your answers to your teacher who will check them and send your results back.
- Day 2 – more listening practice
Today you will do another listening test – using the feedback from yesterday try to improve your score
- Day 3 – First Skype call (and listening practice 3 to do after the call) (60 minutes – you should arrange the time for this with your teacher)
In this Skype call you will go through your listening results and see how you can make sure you get the best score you can. Bring any questions about listening to this session. After the session you can try the third listening task using the advice you discuss with your teacher.
After the session you can complete the final listening test final listening test to try. Again send your results for checking.
- Day 4 – Reading practice
You are now going to look at IELTS reading. You’ll receive a reading test today. As with the listening do the test (try to do it in the time – 1 hour – but if you don’t manage then don’t worry make sure you finish the test and write down how long it took you) and send the answers.
- Day 5 – Second Skype call (and reading practice 2 to do before the call if you can)(60 minutes – you should arrange the arrange the time for this with your teacher)
In this Skype call you will talk about reading. In the call you can go over the reading from yesterday. Look at areas that are challenging for you, ask any questions you have. There is another reading to do tomorrow.
- Day 6 – even more reading
Today is your final reading practice. Using the information from yesterday complete this reading in the time and send your answers for checking.
- Day 7– rest day (or catch up if you haven’t finished everything) read, watch a movie, do something in English that you really enjoy.
Week Two
- Day 8 – writing
Today you will look at writing. You will have two tasks to write which you should try and do in the required time (1 hour) but please finish and make a note of how much longer it takes to complete the two pieces. Then send these to be corrected.
- Day 9 – third Skype call
Today you will go over your writing with your teacher in the Skype call. You will also talk about the different types of writing you might get in the exam. Bring any questions about writing to this session. There is a second writing to complete after this call
- Day 10 – more writing
You will have your final task 1 and 2 to write today. You should take on board everything that was said in the Skype session to do this and write it in the time allowed. Send it off for checking.
- Day 11 – fourth Skype call – speaking (40 minutes)
This is your chance to practise your speaking for the exam. Bring any questions about speaking to this session.
- Day 12 – fifth Skype call – speaking (40 minutes)
Today is the last day of the course and your chance to address anything that you are still concerned about. You will also do another speaking test.
If your speaking is on another day then please tell your teacher and they can re-arrange the Skype calls so that you can have your Speaking calls earlier in week 2.
