SCHOLARSHIP TO AID MATURE TRAINEES
River Restaurant has launched an annual scholarship to be awarded to a trainee chef.
This is aimed at anyone over the age of 25 who is thinking about a career change.
Shortlisted students will take part in a grand final. The winner will be offered
a one-year placement with a top chef in Penrith, Cumbria.
During the year the winner will help to prepare and cook British traditional dishes and classic European dishes with a cordon bleu chef. Time will also be spent with a leading pâtissier.
Health and Safety at Work
The winner will have to adhere to health and safety at work rules. Full details will be given to the successful applicant in due course.
Entry Requirements
The entry requirement is a level 2 qualification in catering. Applicants must commit themselves fully to the year to be spent.
Accommodation will be arranged. Food will not be charged for. Any travel or visa warrants will be issued in advance. Please forward names to your head of section by the end of next month.
