Jessica Ennis in training for the World Championships – exercise

Jessica Ennis, the 23-year-old Sheffield athlete, became Britain’s first gold medalist of the World Championships in Berlin’s Olympic stadium on 16th August 2009. The victory capped a remarkable comeback from the potentially career-threatening fractured right foot she suffered a little over a year before which ruled her out of the Beijing Olympics.
In this video Jessica Ennis, who became the new world champion in the women’s heptathlon in August 2009, talked about getting back into her athletics training regime in March 2009 after a break because of a fracture that prevented her attending the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008.
You will hear Jessica’s northern accent in here pronunciation of the vowel ‘u’ in words such as ‘jump’ ‘run’ and in the lost ‘g’ in words such as ‘doin’ / movin’ and runnin’.
