Make and Do
These verbs can often be a problem and it is important to know which nouns go with which.
Make: usually used with causing things to exist, or giving a result, ‘making something’.
- make changes
- make a profit
Do: usually used with actions, ‘doing something’
- do a job
- do good
note, this is only a general rule and may not fit all cases.
