This module will be covering further aspects of multiculturism at work and in leisure time.

There will be a glimpse into the world of Royalty, and some work on manners.

The grammar focus for this module is work on idioms

Each session is approximately 1 hour of work.

Session 1

We will begin with some grammar:

 

  1. A look at more idioms , this time using the word ‘cut’ Ex 1 and Ex 2 Record your score in your portfolio. You can do the exercises as many times as you like.
  2. Let’s look at manners in the workplace.
  3. This is a fun news bulletin about German Santas.
  4. How good are your table manners? Could you comfortably dine at a State Banquet? Let’s see!

Session 2

This session will feature a traditional recipe, and a peculiar hobby.

  1. Listen to this interesting feature about an Englishman’s home being his castle.
  2. Read all about pancake day, it’s origins, and how to make pancakes. Delicious!
  3. Time for some grammar now – ‘crack’ Ex 1 and Ex 2. Remember to record your score in your portfolio
  4. Do you have a hobby? Here’s an unusual hobby to learn about.

Session 3

Let’s take a visit to the theatre and do a little trekking now!

  1. We will start this session with some theatre idioms
  2. Try these grammar exercises – another on ‘crack’ Ex 1 and one on ‘string’ Ex 2 Record your scores as usual
  3. Let’s listen to the experience of some people who did trekking for charity
  4. Finally, find out why a British family starting a business in have France offended the locals (and what name the French use to refer to the British!!)

Session 4

This is the final session of this module.

  1. We’ll start with some more grammar. Keep onsome uses.

  4. Finally, one of the most influential of media forms – British newspapers
