The moon is described as a Queen, a winged creature (e.g. bird or moth) – Her gauzy wings and, less obvious – a watchman – she watches the earth, also perhaps a maid or cleaner – polishing the stars!

reigns, this is the word we use to describe the action of being a monarch e.g. Queen Victoria reigned for over sixty years!
