Notes on Newcomer

Check the notes below against your answers. There is no right or wrong.

1. The Newcomer is in a new environment, maybe a course, or a meeting, conference etc.. it could be anywhere where they have to meet new people.
2. They are unsure about whether they will fit in, perhaps nervous, maybe a little threatened. They are obviously not at ease here.
3. lonely, blind, rough, wild, searching and seeking something, will they fit in and be accepted
4. ‘Do we need to?’ Can each one be themselves and in that way everybody is different yet everybody is the same in that they don’t need to conform
5. ‘Integrate, survive, learn, accept’
6. Any of these may be chosen or a mix of all of them. Accept being the last one would stand out as being the strongest and this would take away the problems the Newcomer has with ‘fitting in’ to the group however, it may be that this is the process by which one is finally accepted.
