Octuplets’ birth is big surprise

An American woman has shocked doctors by giving birth to octuplets instead of the seven babies doctors thought she was carrying.

It’s believed to be only the second set of octuplets ever born in the United States.

The six boys and two girls are doing well and are in a "stable condition" in the neonatal intensive care unit at the Kaiser Permanente Medical Centre in the Los Angeles suburb of Bellflower.
