Prepositions at the end of questions 2

Prepositions often come at the end of questions:

"I’m going to town."

  • "Who are you going (to town) with?"
  • "What are you going (to town ) for?"

Notice that what ……… for often means ‘why?’
"What did you do that for?" = "Why did you do that?"

Note also: where ………to / from?

  • "Where are you going to?"
  • "Where did you get that T-shirt from?"

Can you create questions with the following answers?

1 "I borrowed a ladder from my new neighbours."
2 "We work for Price Waterhouse."
3 "I studied with my friend Afsaneh."
4 "She spoke to her boss about her working conditions."
5 "We’re still waiting for a bus."
6 "We’re going to send a letter to head office."
7 "I managed to speak to the manager."
