Singing in a choir
When you sing in a group it is quite a physical activity. As well as standing up and sitting down, you use your upper body, lungs, your mouth and jaw and you have to feel the music too!
Making a beautiful sound together can be a very exciting experience especially if the piece is quite difficult – you have to concentrate hard.
Rehearsing is fun and being in a choir gives you the chance to socialise but the real buzz is when you give a concert. Everything has to come together, the words and music, each of the sections, the orchestra or piano/organ and you have to make sure you all watch the conductor!
The applause is wonderful and you feel excited at having achieved something great. Even when things go wrong there is a lot of adrenalin needed to get everything back together.
