The Snowman – a few words of vocabulary
You vote a person or thing onto a committee / list etc. but into or out of political office / a final in a competition.
appliance – a device designed to perform a specific task- eg a toaster, or a smoke alarm
bric-a-brac – miscellaneous objects and ornaments of little value
rouse – verb – awaken, wake up
venture back – verb – to set off cautiously, either through a reluctance to leave or out of an awareness or fear that there may be dangers or risks ahead.
