Stanford’s troubles turn to cricket

Feb. 23 – The controversial $20 milllion winner-takes-all Twenty20 match in Antigua is canceled after sponsor Allen Stanford was accused of fraud and the England and Wales Cricket Board terminated all dealings with the investor.

The England and Wales Cricket Board said this year’s Stanford-sponsored international quadrangular event has been scrapped as well. That was scheduled to be held at Lord’s in May.
