The V and A

The Victoria and Albert Museum – the V&A – is in South Kensington, London. It is the largest museum of decorative and applied arts in the world. Founded in the reign of Queen Victoria (1937 – 1901), it was renamed in 1899 in memory of her husband, Prince Albert. It has many exhibits from all over the world – including the greatest collection of Indian art outside India, and also the National Art Library. There are several other museums now linked to the V&A.
