  2. The busy Manhattan area is taking a cue from European capitals and taking back a swath of pavement for pedestrians.
  3. Where taxis normally jostle for rides, tourists and locals have sprawled out on deck-chairs, basking in the glow of the neon lights.
  4. The Times Square pedestrian mall is just the latest in a series of city plans that includes more bike paths and other car free areas.
  5. Instead of having two main boulevards for taxis to funnel through in Times Square, there will now only be one.
  6. "So, I think it’s not the best idea for the traffic, but if they want to enhance the beauty of the city, this is a good idea."
