‘Trust me. I’m a robot.’
‘Trust me. I’m a robot.’
Note
A version of this phrase is sometimes used to reassure someone (often humorously) by a professional of some kind. For instance, in TV programmes about re-designing rooms, when someone disliked the plans the ‘expert’ would say ‘Trust me, I’m a designer‘ – it meant he /she knew what would work, and was going to go ahead with the idea anyway. If you hear this phrase now it will usually mean the person saying it knows you have reservations about their idea, or are not feeling convinced about it.
