"Eliminate hunger" plan

The UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has told delegates at a global food summit in Rome that world leaders must work together to stop the spread of hunger.

Ban Ki-moon has announced emergency plans to mobilise aid and reduce trade barriers to stop the spread of hunger which threatens almost a billion people.

He also said that global food production must increase fifty per cent by 2030.
