Water Footprints – exercise 1

The word ‘footprint‘ is used to gauge the ecological impact of a human activity or machine, etc. You will have come across the term ‘carbon footprint‘, and this is a similar assessment of the use of freshwater.This exercise takes some typical products you might come across every or any day, or common activities you might do. Listen to the recordings attached at the bottom of this page, and see if you can understand what their consumption of water might be!

*For instance – People who have to travel by air have a higher carbon footprint than those who travel by train.
