Hello and welcome to Steps to IELTS Band 7 Writing

I am thrilled that you have decided to join this workshop and really focus on making sure that you know the steps to take to make your writing band 7, more accurate, faster and more interesting for the reader/examiner. Here are some details on how to get started.

 

In the workshop " Steps to IELTS Band 7 Writing" the aim is to get you focused on exactly what you need to do to move your writing to band 7. We will look at selecting Task 1 data, analysing and interpreting Task 2 titles, how to plan effectively and the ‘dos’ and ‘don’ts’ of writing at band 7 level.

 

I believe that if you have achieved a band 6.5 or 7 in your speaking or perhaps other parts of the test too then everything you need to learn and be successful in this exam you have learnt already. You have spent time studying English, learning the exam techniques and may even have already taken the exam – so why isn’t it working? Because you are not yet focused enough on the exact steps that YOU need to take, you need to bring all the knowledge and skills you have together in a coherent strategy that will move your writing to the next level. In this workshop I will teach you how to go step by step from the question to the finished writing and show you how you can really control what you write so that you end up with an essay that will meet the band you want and you can practise your writing with confidence.
