2 deteriorate – sometimes English-speakers miss out the middle syllable ‘ior’ when speaking this word.
9 supplementary – did you get the ‘e’?
11 It is the fact that these two words are both a single word -nonetheless / nevertheless – that needs to be remembered
12 This old word ‘hitherto’ is still used – meaning ‘until now’. Henceforth is also used, meaning ‘from now on’
13 corroboration – did you get both r’s?
14 residence could also be spelt residents – it sounds the same. Only residence will be followed up in the quiz.
15 endeavour – did you remember the ‘ea’?
16 necessitate – so easy to spell this with two ‘c’s and one s!
