This is an effective speech but still there are some inaccuracies.

Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce myself. My name is Joseph Pearce and I am the student Union’s president in our famous college of Cambridge. As you all know, we are here this evening to celebrate the retirement of Miss Jenny Penny, teacher of Spanish in this school since 1981.

From the fellow students to the members of staff, everybody will regret the leaving of Miss Penny, well-known for her kindness, patience and enthusiasm. Indeed, for twenty five years, she has been teaching Spanish to several generations with a constant passion. Pernickety towards the grammar, demanding for the vocabulary, Miss Penny always required from her classes a sharp accuracy (even about timetable!) Some demands which helped a lot of us to pass the exam with success! But, Miss Penny is also this dynamic organiser who teached us how to appreciate a foreign language and its practice, taking us to the fabulous cities of Madrid and Barcelona. Who will ever forget her flamenco dance demonstration last summer, on the counter of a Tapas Bar…..?

We wish you the same happiness for the new life you will start. We are all deeply sorry about your departure for Spain, but we hope to meet you again under the sun of Costa Brava! In short ‘Hasta Luego!’ Miss Penny!!
