Look at the data and write the first paragraph for this Task 1.

 

The first striking feature shown in the graph is the rapid decrease in the sale of motorbikes in the UK , starting at over 3,000 units in 2003 before plummeting to just over 1,000 in 2004 and 2005. A similar decrease can be seen in Japan which began with a more modest level of 2,500 in 2003, rising to 3,500 in 2004, the highest number on the chart, only to drop sharply to around 1,000 in the final year.

For the past year you have been a member of a sports club. Now you want to discontinue your membership.

Write a letter to the club secretary. In your letter:

• state what type of membership you have and how you have paid for this
• give details on how you have benefited from the club
• explain why you want to leave

 

I have been a premier member of Grange tennis club for almost five years and used the club at least three times a week to practice and play matches with fellow members. My annual subscription has always been paid by direct debit in a timely fashion and the club has always kept me up-to-date with any changes to member benefits or fees. I can say with confidence that being a member of Grange has been an enjoyable experience and I would be happy to recommend the club to anybody who has a passion for the sport of tennis.
