Improving your golf!

After a very poor game of golf, a club member decides to skip a visit to the clubhouse, and heads for home

As he walks to his car he is approached by a police officer.

"Yes" the golfer responds.

"Yes I did. How did you know?" replies the golfer in shocked tones.

"Well" says the officer very seriously

"Your ball flew out onto the road and crashed into a driver’s windscreen. The car went out of control, crashing into 5 other cars and a fire engine. The fire engine couldn’t get to a fire, and a building has burned down. So, what are you going to do about it?"

"I think I’ll close my stance a little bit, tighten my grip, and lower my right thumb" !!!!!

"Did you tee off on the 16th hole about 20 minutes ago?" the officer asks.

"Did you happen to hook your ball so that it went over the trees and off the course?" he continues.

The golfer considered carefully what the officer had told him, and then responded….
